I have a series of 5 and 10 minute subs that I wis to stack together to produce a master image. What is the best method of getting these to gether?
Make a master of the 5 min subs and a master of the 10 min subs and then blend then together in PS using a 50% opacity for the 10min or 5 min sub?Dont know which one .
Hope you can assist me.

Allan,

It depends on the subject. If the subject has a blown out core, for example, in the 10-minute master, but, it's not in the 5-minute master, layer the 10-minute master over the top of the 5-minute master, and via masking, blend the two together.

Otherwise, going along the lines of what you've said, I'd probably lay the 5-minute master over the top and blend via opacity until you're happy with the result. Though, to be honest, I can't see any visible gain from layering a 5-minute master over the top. I would have thought it'd be better to combine all the individual 10-minute and 5-minute (calibrated) exposures using your pre-processing software.

Humayun
