Hi Geoff, nicely done. The dark lanes in both images are well captured. The 6188 has an extra textural quality that is very appealing. My eye seems to want to see more reds in there and perhaps a little shift in the framing to place the colour more to the centre rather than the dark lanes. But it is entirely an "eye of the beholder" situation isn't it?
