A wonderful macro photo – well done. Tremendous depth of focus and very dynamic to look at.
I just looked at our “Wildlife of Greater Brisbane” book and these ants look too much like the dreaded Red Imported Fire Ant – I really hope that I am totally mistaken and they are not!
Could also look like a Red Meat Ant?
