Hi,
The star is know as
Eta Carinae and contains the famous
Homunculus Nebula.
With such long exposures Eta Carinae makes for a very big bright ugly star. So what I did was subtract it out and replace it with some very short exposures trying to capture the Homunculus. My job was okay but not the best.
Eddie Trimarchi did a much better job at capturing it his
image.
