Hi guys.

Been experimenting with K3CCDTools as my capture software.

Noticed the image on the laptop screen appears to show the image refreshing a little too slowly. It looks staggerd and jerky, making focusing difficult.

It doesn't look to be displaying the image as smoothly as AmCap.

Is there a setting or adjustment you can tell me to tick/make to solve this?

Cheers

Hi Matt

Check the fps setting, (frames per second). In K3CCDTools on my notebook, 5fps gives a slow refresh rate which makes focusing a bit tricky, whereas 10fps is about right for focusing.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Dennis

Think we had it on 10fps.

It just looked sort of staggered on the screen. Like using a strobe light on a slow moving object

It does that for me as well matt. During capture np, but when adjusting the settings and focusing it is a very slow refresh rate.

Found it matt. Go into the setting dialogue box (where you specify what folder to save captures to) and you will see down the bottom 200 ms in the preview rate. Change it to 25 or 50 and see how you go. 25 made a considerable difference

Thanks Paul

Yeah. Was looking at the ms rate and even had it set to 1, but the refresh rate is still fairly obvious to the eye.

I couldn't tell much of a difference in the rate until I put the original lens back in and pointed it to my ugly mug. I then set it to 1000 and checked and then to 25. Definate difference. See how it goes tonight on Jupiter, if you're clear that is.

Looks OK at the moment Paul.

Don't wanna say much more than that. Weather Gods are listening:lol:

I have that setting to 1.

But like Dennis says, it doesn't appear to refresh any faster than the FPS rate.
