Hi Asi,
Great image despite the seeing. It is possible to see the albedo of the moon in the FOV. The EZ also shows lots of great details.
Thanks for posting,
Fernando

Nice view Asimov, a fair bit of detail showing. Even this "boring" side is pretty interesting.
As Fernando pointed out, possibly even some detail on Ganymede? May be worth a separate stack.

Hi Fernando & thanks!
Cheers Laurie.
Thanks Ivan. Yes detail on Ganymede. I'm still getting used to that scenario even with average seeing. This is already a combo stack. Only a 1500 frame moon stack so this is about as far as I can tweek it without introducing artefacts.

Nice work from the C11, do you reckon going bigger would make much difference or are you seeing limited even now?

Hi Peter & thanks. Well I've still got the 14" newt but no, I'm getting a better result with this extraordinary C11 that I still reckon has an uncannily great set of optics in her..The seeing is still the limiting factor for me. Nothing special about this seeing & I wouldn't give it any more than a 5-6.The interesting thing is though, it's the first time this year I've seen the high & mid levels 'join forces'. When all 3 are lined up on the same heading, that's when I'll get my seeing.

As always even when not great seeing, a great effort.

Nice result Asi, reckon for this apparition, anytime those tiny white ovals are resolved in the STeB its been a pretty useful session.

Thanks Trevor. lowering the gamma to 50% on the live feed has always been my bench mark. If you're seeing details right to the poles with this gamma setting you're going to do ok. Naturally I bring back the gamma to 100 before any AVI is taken.

Very nice.:)
What kind of camera are you using? And what kind of exposure times, gain and gamma have you appplied?
In my short experience (usink dbk21 color) I have used gamma around 50 both when viewing on screen AND recording. Should gamma be set higher than 50 (you mention 100)? Or is that dependent on the camera...

I'm using the Imaging Source DBK618. My exposure times directly relate to what frame rate I use, but before I choose a frame rate, I must consider the seeing, so it does depend a lot on the seeing. Generally for good seeing I would use 30FPS with an exposure of 1/30th-1/38th With roughly a 75% filled histogram with my C11/2X barlow (F20) For 60 FPS (which I use for average-poor seeing I'd be running my fastest exposure with maxed out gain.
I always use 100% gamma which is default or linear. I have experimented with lower gamma but was not happy with the results.

One more, this time at F30 - Had to try it. I've had worse results but in better seeing I hope to receive a better result. Going to be clouded out for a couple of days I think. Not happy!
