Firstly, I confess to being a complete novice at electronics etc. but I'm willing to learn
I'm looking for advice on the best Arduino tutorials, simple projects etc.
Websites, forums, PDF files maybe? etc. etc.
Basic step by step advice would be best to start me off! :D
Thanks

Hi Chris,
Make magazine have some good tutorials on Arduino, start here http://blog.makezine.com/arduino/
I'd recommend getting a board (if you haven't already) and just having a play. Most places that sell Arduino also sell starter kits with a breadboard, jumper leads and a selection of interesting components to get you started.
What are you planning on building? I have a half finished Arduino weather station that I might finish one day ....

I was looking at the Arduino stuff for an upcoming project but I've ended up getting some MicroX kits which are Microchip PIC based. The main reason was that even though I've used both Atmel and PIC uC's I've found the MPLAB IDE for the PIC chips a bit easier to use.
Like others have suggested, grab yourself a board, maybe one of the simple one with a couple of I/O on it and some LED's to flash and start playing.
I'm happy to help if you need any specific help :)
Cheers,
Simon

Thanks Malc, Simon,
I now have an Arduino Uno board, and the software is installed and working.
I've done a small amount of programming over the years, visual basic most recently or should I say VBA in association with Microsoft Excel.
I thought that learning how stepper motors work, and maybe getting my small home made equatorial fork to be driven in RA by a stepper motor would be a good first project, for visual observing, not imaging.
Something else to play with on cloudy nights! :D
Thanks for the links etc.
Cheers
Chris
