Will definatly have to organise a weekend to catch up! You would have some brilliant skies out where you are!!!! 3-4hrs drive west of rocky?

Thanks for the warm welcome. yes, the skies out here are pretty good, with exception of street lights (but go 2 km out of town and its dark on top of hills). I am only pretty new to Astronomy viewing, so just figuring it all out and seeking out the biggest and brighest objects, to see what I can see :) So much to learn, and a lifetime to do it!

i did a search and i'm reviving an old post.
But i've moved up to Yeppoon after living in brisbane for the past 3 years.. the last 6 months i spent observing through my 8" dob . which i unfortunately had to sell....
but i'm keen to get back into things and would be great to meet up with fellow astronomers for some drinks and oberving.
