Just move to Rockhampton QLD. and trying to find someone interested in astronomy. Having trouble finding a club. Does anyone no of anyone up this way.

I blew through Rocki early yesterday morning on the way to Moura Phil, 18hr and 1100km later I got home at 10pm. I will try and drop in next time and say hello.

I think we could almost get the First IIS created Astronomy club going at this rate!... how does R-ICE sound.. lol

Will definatly have to organise a weekend to catch up! You would have some brilliant skies out where you are!!!! 3-4hrs drive west of rocky?

Thanks for the warm welcome. yes, the skies out here are pretty good, with exception of street lights (but go 2 km out of town and its dark on top of hills). I am only pretty new to Astronomy viewing, so just figuring it all out and seeking out the biggest and brighest objects, to see what I can see :) So much to learn, and a lifetime to do it!

i did a search and i'm reviving an old post.

But i've moved up to Yeppoon after living in brisbane for the past 3 years.. the last 6 months i spent observing through my 8" dob . which i unfortunately had to sell....

but i'm keen to get back into things and would be great to meet up with fellow astronomers for some drinks and oberving.
