I have decided to ditch my plans of buying a new Macbook Pro (probably for a year or so) and instead have ordered a 512GB SSD to replace its original 320GB HDD, and 8GB memory to give my existing XPS M1330 some extra punch. Quite a cheap but effective upgrade.

I've seen the results of putting an SSD in at work and am looking forward to the huge performance gain it should provide.

Also bought an ASUS PA238Q which by all accounts is an excellent screen for photography, hopefully keep that in use when I eventually replace the whole laptop.

Looking forward to the upgrades when they arrive

I upgraded to an SSD a few months ago, I will never look back.
It's not the fastest model out there but from the models I had to choose from, it was the most reliable from all accounts.
I'm now looking to upgrade to a faster one, the 'old' SSD will then go into my 12" netbook, should perk it up a bit more and extend the battery life.

Yup, my SSD (Intel X25-M 160 GB Gen 2) gave me the single biggest jump in performance of *any* upgrade I've experienced since my first computer... a 286 in 1989! :)

Agreed, when I maxed out the RAM I thought it was a huge step in performance, but the SSD(Intel 320) took it another leap. Not having to wait longer than a handful of seconds for Win7 to load is probably the most satisfaction ;)
Looking forward to getting a new faster SSD.
