Can't help it, saw 3 Vixen LVs on CN, 6, 4 and 2.5mm, so grabbed all of them. Will post up a family portrait once they arrive.

I wish Brian, I only have three so far, and will add another 3 once that little package arrives from the US. There are 16 pieces in the LV set, including a 50mm 2" monster :eyepop:

I think what would be really good is if someone could do some sort of comparison of the traditional LV's with their new incarnations the NLV's or even some sort of comparison with other Lanthanum occulars to gauge the differences.

Mmmmm.... I have the LV5, 7, 10, 15, 25 and yup, the 2" 50mm (my favourite) and yes they are still nice eyepieces - I keep them for messing around.
Also had a 6, 9 and 18 but sold them a few years ago. In addition to being good visually, they are excellent for focal photography with a compact camera, as the consistent eye relief puts the exit pupil right where you need it, in the front nodal point of the camera lens.

I did a comparison with my Edmund RKE's at one time, the LV's gave very very similar views however the LV's were much more comfortable to use. They're also better built and a boxed set looks gorgeous.

I'm fairly sure NLV's are optically the same with a rather ugly cell.

The 2" 30mm NLVW appears to really be the old LV30mm, mounted in a huge alloy cell. The optics are mounted in metal sleeve that screws into the cell.
