I have the original 13mm Nagler ( type I) and it does suffer from the dreaded Kidney Bean effect, at times, but this has never bothered me either. This is still one of the very best telescope eyepieces, and some would say that there was a drop in Nagler quality - for a while - after the initial hits like this eyepiece and the 20 mm type 2 (the hand grenade) which "weighs as much as a brick".
The amount of glass in these two eyepieces is phenomenal....they feel like telescope counterweights in the hand.
cheers, madbadgalaxyman
