Well ive bit the bullet and just placed an order for a 15mm Super view from AOE.
hopefully it should arrive some time next week. I will let you know my thoughts then:cool:
my thoughts would be something like "I've got an new eyepiece! I've got a new eyepiece!! :P"
oh and congrats... I was going to get that one instead of the 30mm

I have the 20mm SV and I dont think its quite up to the task at f5.
If your 6 inch dob is f8 as Im guessing you would probably be happy with it

thanks geoff, I think my dob is some where between f7 and f8,
can't seem to find any data on its focal length etc.
I know some people here dislike the pluging of retail stores, but I think that if your in the market for some discount ep's you should check out AOE.com.au.
they have been very helpful so far.

Brendan, didn't you get any instructions/specs at all with the t'scope? To find the fl of your t'scope, divide the length by the diam. in inches. eg; 48" tube div. by 6" = f8. or if you're metric, 1220 div by 150mm = f8.1.
As Ken, and others have said before, ask and you will receive. We will help if able to.
Just the facts m'am.

Thanks rajah, went trolling round the net and couldn't find a thing.
Got the EP on Tueday, and was cursed as we all are when that new bit of kit arrives, the clouds rolled in. However it cleared up last night to give it a bit of a run.
My thoughts on this EP
Ordering and delivery were swift and prompt. AOE are definately good to work with. (shamless plug)
The EP arrived well packed in bubble wrap and cardboard, the ep its self including endcaps was sealed in a clip lock bag to prevent dust contamination during transport.
out of the packet and with dust caps removed the Multi coating was evident as a distinct green reflection from the surface.
Focal travel was good being very close to my plossl ep's.
Eye relief was okay during the night viewing but by day it is poor.
As it is very close to the full moon at the moment DSO images were a little washed out but Saturn was a definate show stopper!
I would strongly recomend this EP for those wanting to experiment with Wide field views.
Test set up
150mm Reflector
f7.3
Mag 74X
many thanks brendan. was the view sharp right to the edge of the FOV?

sure was ving, how ever Im going to have to get used to roving around the FOV, it like using my 40m plossl but at 3 times the magnification, this should get me going on making some DSO sketches

I have the 20mm gso SV myself.
I dont recommend it at f5 , but as I just got a shiny new f7.5 refractor today hopefully I can give an updated report soon :)

It goes pretty good at f7.5 :)
I think its going to get a lot of use in the 80ED
