Just occured to me ... well now that its time to by them.
Does one require high tensile bolts to go between the concrete footing and the pier ??? I plan to use 3/4" or 19mm

Thanks for your help

No.

Strength is not your issue and all steel bolts are the same stiffness regardless of grade.

Thanks Al ... guess I will stick with normal mild steel gal.

Yeah Marke ... I actually am using threaded rod ... 19mm and I have to buy it in 1m or 3m lengths ... so was going to buy 2 x 1m lots

Yep I agree, use normal gal botls (or threaded rod is that's your fancy).

Cheers,
Jason.

To make mine a little more secure I put 2x 65mm washes with nuts on each
rod as well :)

I used stainless threaded rod - it's not mcu more expensive and is easier to pull up.
It should be well tensioned onto a very flat bed

Thanks for your help. Will be going the gal rod direction ... will be easier to weld something appropriate to the cemented end to better secure it in the concrete ... and thats what I'm off to do right now.
