Hi all, I am after downloads for my new mac pro to control my telescope. I have a windows pc but need the mac versions. Advice on setup would be appreciated. The mount I have is a heq5 pro with..

Synscan
Shoestring GPUSB
USB to Serial converter
Meade DSI II
Celestron neximage.

I have downloaded stellarium, PHD and Nebulosity for Mac and looking for the rest.

If someone has a mac setup with above and configuration tips would appreciate it.

Regards
Kon

Hi Dave , tried it but still no good. Has anyone got a successful setup with a 2011 macbook pro. That is with planetarium, cables, software imaging and guiding with Meade DSII, Celestron neximage or webcam connected to heq5 pro with synscan setup.

Hi all, trying out equinox pro but the software cannot recognise the Meade DSI II and my webcam. The popup camera window says no camera. The DSI II wirks fine with nebulosity and I have installed the toucam driver (Maccam) to get my celestron neximage working and is workinf with it but no go with equinox pro.
Also I select gpusb and try to connect but the led does not blink. Am I missing something.

I don't know about imaging tools, but Sky Safari controls my HEQ5Pro mount very nicely from the Mac (and iPhone, and iPad). I'm using the SkyFi WiFi adapter, but a USB cable is available as well.

Cheers
Steffen.

Hi Steffen, I have sky safari pro as well and the scope does slew and with equinox but since I use GPUSB from shoestring, equinox is the only software planetarium program that has GPUSB as a selection but equinox does not recognize my DSI II and my other camera. I do not think GPUSB is being recognized as well. I know astro IIdc is another program but it costs $110.

I have been pulling my hair out..

Finally got it to work. My mac would not activate the driver for the celestron neximage webcam. I needed to install maccam then equinox pro finally recognized the driver for some reason.

Have not tested autoguiding yet but will do, nearly there..Phew..Thanks for everyone's advice.
