Finally after several weeks waiting I collected my pier from the local
fabricator and looks like it went together well
Its a lot heavy than I originally expected - needs 2 people to move it
probably around 70kg mark I think and put together per my instructions
with what he had on hand as he was close by . Its just painted in primer
and I will respray it over the weekend.
The size is 1m of 180mmx6mm pipe with 20mm plates and gussets
top and bottom and M20 /20mm bolts and holes in base plate which
is about 380mm.
I dug a whole for the concrete last weekend at it came out at 700x700
and 1m deep - thats when I hit hard clay and shale . Hope to pour the
concrete on Sun .

That looks like a very well made pier Mark. It will be great once you have it bolted in.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

Cheers
Phil

Phil, It should be substantial enough to allow for bigger mount later if needed
all I have to do is change over the top plate.
All up cost including materials and primed was $680 which I thought
pretty good considering the size and weight .

That is a great price for a custom pier!

Nice idea to have the pier larger for future upgrades.

I am still waiting for my pier:(

Cheers

I found by asking a around a few places that they are actually happy to
make something up if it means they can get rid of scrap they have laying
around - hence cheap and there is not too much to building it anyway.

That's a good looking solid pier Marke.
