My 3 month old iPad started becoming unresponsive a few weeks ago. Can't open the device using the swipe. I can get it to work if I do a full restore via ITunes, wipe it clean and start again but the problem develops again after the first few boot ups. I upgraded to the latest iOS and no improvement. It is now also opening apps and typing by itself. Anyone know a good exorcist?
I am taking it back to the store today. Anyone any ideas what it might be (software or hardware)? All apps have been removed.

Nothing is perfect - especially when made en masse. Had negative experience with iStuff too (iPod). What is good, though, they really care of warranty cover. But the data does not get restored or paid for. One needs to use all iProgram things to back it up - which is a bit painful when say, iTunes run on PC - gets plagued with freezes and slowdowns. As a result, my tablet is Sony - android is definitely much more PC (and home WIFI) friendlier.

You can be unlucky and end up with with a defective product, but if it is dealth with by the seller and the issue resolved quickly that that is all you can ask for. No complaints. My iPad was backed up on my PC so I didn't lose anything.:)

How are you liking the SONY Michael ? I've bought the 32 gig version and have hardly used any space yet but I'm still looking for the Apps I really need. We don't do the social network rubbish, it's more an instant access point in the lounge and it talks to the TV and PS3 natively.
What are you specifically using yours for ?

It's mostly browsing, Internet TV/radio, magazine reading, stuff like that. Not a work machine - need more power for that. Pretty happy with it- easy to hold, looks pretty tough, has excellent battery life. And different - I am bored with those slick lookalikes (sorry iPad/Samsung guys).

Cheers Michael,
I got Google Sky and another astro map app ( can't remember the name right now ). Just added a free inclinometer app which is really good for setting up the mount dec. Other than that we also use it for Internet browsing, TV scheds, booking events, shows, accommodation and reading up and general research.
Pretty happy with it so far.

This is proof of where most manufacturers get it wrong.

The worst product in the world can be saved with fantastic aftersales service, as equally as the best product in the world can be drowned by poor aftersales service. Apple have the right mix of both.
