Gosh after reading heaps about what EP does what I am now completly MIA.
I would like to try a new Wide angle 19mm or there abouts for my Orion 90mm Mak-Cass, FL1250.
What if anything does anyone surgest?
thanks in advance.

G'day Mike,
Do you wear glasses? Do you care about eye relief (how far you have to place your eyeball from the top of the eye lens)? What is your approximate budget? In advance of the above information I'd suggest a secondhand Meade 5000 SWA 20mm ocular if you can find one. They aren't the very best option but they were pretty good and Meade sold a large number of them at reduced prices a year or so ago. Other options include the Panoptic 19mm (really nice but considerably more expensive), the Explore Scientific 68° 20mm (basically the same as the Meade above in a different casing), and several others. Give us a few more hints about your preferences and I'm sure you'll get plenty of replies.
Whatever you get, I imagine your skies are far darker than mine! :)

Hi rmcconachy,
yes I wear specks but not when using my scope. As for budget well all the books say spend as much as you can and you will be rewarded with outstanding veiwing, so $200m or so.I understand that my small scope will only capture a limited amount of light but will a wide angle really be that good or at least better than my 25mm Plossel?
The 19mm panoptic has nothing but good things written about it, my scope is F13.8. Not sure what that means but will that be op with these type of eye piece's?
I am at Ayers Rock and apart from this week when it has been cloudy everyday I am lucky enough to have brilliant skys.
thanks
mike.

Generally the longer the focal length of the scope the kinder it is to eyepieces, so you are lucky cheapish eyepieces should fit the bill for you, it the fast scopes f4-5 tht need xpensive eyeglass
