Here's another nice shot - 10sec @ ISO 800, F5.6, 50mm.

Great picture! I got up at 5am this morning but it must have been too bright to see it. I will get up earlier tomorrow morning as it's supposed to be clear in Adelaide.

Absolutely amazing. It seems the trick is to get up before astronomical twilight. My less than impressive images from suburban Adelaide taken on Nautical twilight are here (along with conditions):

Awesome pix, I might have to do an early morning stint up on the Volcano in the back yard. Only way I can get a low East Horizon.
Weather is currently co-operating here .... shhhhh !!

Thanks for all your comments, and to Ian for the heads up on this one :)

must get up a bit earlier tomorrow - I really was not expecting it to be so bright or up so early!

would you believe I was only 10k's from Colin's (WOW shot!) location in mandurah?!

Cheers all,
I hope you all have success tomorrow morning - one not to be missed for sure.

Hello,

I took some pictures of C/2011 Lovejoy this morning from Sao Paulo/Brazil.
The thin tail was visible with 11x80 binoculars under light polluted skies of Sao Paulo.

Quick one before bed, this shot @ 70mm, ISO 3200, 30 seconds.

odd framing due to its size and my lack of expensive lenses to use :)

Great shots Grahame, love the latest one with tail detail and the cluster, excellent.

Hoping I can wake up for it tomorrow, I have to work so can't do the old stay up all night trick.

Do you have a link to Colin's shot from Mandurah? I can't seem to find it
