Comet Lovejoy morning shot (added 22/12 shot)

Good morning all,

awesome show this is putting on already! im glad i made the hike to get this shot
Taken at 0400 local time (perth) with canon 7D, 17-85mm lens, ISO 800 F4.5

Thanks mike - this shot was 8 seconds - it was easily visible to naked eye though!

Here's another nice shot - 10sec @ ISO 800, F5.6, 50mm.
It has a distinct Ion tail too

Woohoo, fabulous images Grahame!!!!

The first IIS image posted, and the first of many to come I would think. I have to work again tomorrow but you have given me hoep that I dont need to go to a total dark sky as you have cature the comet with the city glow.

Bugger it, I am taking my camera to work!!

Great picture! I got up at 5am this morning but it must have been too bright to see it. I will get up earlier tomorrow morning as it's supposed to be clear in Adelaide.

Absolutely amazing. It seems the trick is to get up before astronomical twilight. My less than impressive images from suburban Adelaide taken on Nautical twilight are here (along with conditions):

Awesome pix, I might have to do an early morning stint up on the Volcano in the back yard. Only way I can get a low East Horizon.
Weather is currently co-operating here .... shhhhh !!
