Been there, done all that and made improvements/mods to his methods. Don't agree with using one cotton ball tho. One or two wipes only,(and do NOT turn the cotton ball), then use new cotton ball. Repeat as nec. The blower brush is best. It's fun, chasing the water beads off the mirror.
No No No, argonavis. NO polish. *Ebony Star* formica is the best. It's Juuusssttt right. Polish attracts dust.
BTW, Meade have been using teflon spacer washers for the centre bolt for years. :thumbsup:

I didn't either. That's why the first thing you should do is to wash with distilled water first, then proceed with the cotton balls and luke warm water/detergent stage, but ONLY if nec. L.

If I may Indulge? I used to service Photocopiers/Faxes/Readerprinters and the like. Did that for 11 yrs. We had one young chap who came along and was given a copier to clean etc. He dismantled the M/C, cleaned everything really well. He cleaned and polished the mirrors as well. Trouble was, he cleaned and polished the mirrors too well. When he reported in that the copies were crap, we discovered that he had removed ALL the reflective coatings on ALL the SURFACE COATED mirrors in the M/C. At around $50.00 a pop!! :jawdrop: :newbie:

One of our society members had his mirror out to clean and his 8 y.o. daughter walked past, saw all the dust on it and scrubbed it off with a tea-towel for him.

3 weeks later he got it back from the aluminiser.
