2ins star diagonal

Can someone explain whether there is any real advantagesbin using a 2 ins diagonal instead of a 1.25 ins one?
Would the fov be bigger on the same ep?

:) Hi David , you would get exactly the same field of view and magnification with any given eyepiece size weather you use a 1.25 or 2 inch diagonal .
most people use 2 inch diagonals so they can use there wide field eyepices , eg 82 - 110:eyepop: degrees of field of view and its also easier when using a large 2 inch eyepiece to see the entire field , with a little looking around of course ! .
The view in my 2 inch celestron Axiom LX 32mm eyepiece is aswome . many many times larger field ( many more stars ! ) than my 32mm plossel, not to say the plossel is not any good , its a nice eyepiece and I use it when showing the public the night sky :thumbsup: and if it gets dropped it wont break my bank like replacing the axiom LX would .

The other advantage over the 1.25 inch diaganol,is with the 2 inch diaganol, you can use BOTH 1.25 inch and 2 inch eyepieces.
