Well ... still very new to this all, despite having had my scope and kit for almost 12 months but haven't been getting out much. Finally got to see Jupiter for the first time the other night through my scope and wanted to try some pics with my DLSR. Clouds of course rolled in last night once I started setting up, so decided to forget the camera and trying to drift align and just observe this gas ball in the gaps.
Thought it odd to be able to see 5 moons, then checked my star program and realised it was a star not a moon ... :screwy: ... still learning lots with lots more to learn, haha.
Then remembered reading that drawing can help with observing, so thought I'd try my hand at some sketches. Here's what I managed, all very crude but wanted to share them and get feedback, criticism, tips, etc.
Was using a standard crappy ball point pen will try again with some pencils for a softer touch. Unless there's something better to try?

Thanks for viewing ... and not laughing loud enough to be heard, haha!
