I have two eyepieces purchased from Sylvain and don't have any problem with them. Very happy with them in fact.

I noticed on the Coudy Nights forum, a number of people making remarks like "once you fix the dreaded rattle, everything is good".

I had to ask just what this rattle was and how to fix it.
Here is the thread if of interest....

Hi Mike,

I've encountered this rattle with a few EPs, including one of my TMB's. All it is is the last retaining ring that's down the inside of the barrel has come a little loose & the final glass element is loose in its casing - that is what's rattling. To fix is just to wind back that final ring washer securely. I'd suggest you modify a paddle pop stick to engage the little slot in thering as your tool. Less risk of damage to the EP.

Mental.

A slight rattle is probably best ignored - just don't shake the eyepiece. If it gets to the point where the lens is moving significantly you need to find the retaining ring and tighten it gently with a small screwdriver. Slight eyepiece rattles are not uncommon.

edit: or wood/plastic stick as Alex suggested. (can't call you Mental Alexander, seems disrespectful :) )

"Retaining ring", ta Tony. I couldn't remember its name. Getting old...
