My Roll Off

My new MX and TEC140 needed shelter and this is what I came up with. It's about 4' long, 2' wide, and taller than needed, but should manage a larger scope sometime in the future. It rolls surprisingly well on the deck. My main concern is vertical stability which I hope will be ok. I have tried to brace the shed against the pier by using two u shaped pieces of wood...one at floor level and the other just below the top. Peter, thanks for posting . :thumbsup: This design would probably suit my own situation. Photo attached.
Question, The top sliding board which pushes against the pier to help stabalise the cover. Is it fixed in place with some sort of catch or pins?
Suggestion, if a similar board with a couple of fly screened holes in it (for airflow) was placed on the bottom level as well, it might keep little visitors out. Snakes,:mad2: frogs etc.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your comments! Good idea about the screen over the bottom. I will add that for sure. The photo doesn't show it but I've drilled two substantial holes through the top retaining board and the support rails through which are placed two long bolts. It seems pretty secure but won't be sure until there is a substantial wind!

Sadly it does look like an outhouse, but my kids thought it was a fun changing room for the pool.

Excellent and well executed idea. Doesn't take up too much space and looks good.
I designed a similar idea but I've got the space so decided on a shed. Also a roll off had water problems at my site.

Have you thought about adding a shelf at the back wall to take a PC, Charts, red Light, work area ? Mine was going to be away from the house and a bit bigger so it could be a work area to keep the PC, power supply etc dry from all the dew. Then you've got a ready to go setup, just leave it all setup, roll away, power up and go.

I might do that temporarily but it's a bit narrow to actually work in. Since the mount is fully robotic I plan eventually to just operate from a desk in my house which is only about 6 meters away. It does make an excellent sun shield when I'm messing with things during the day!
