I have a few issues when trying to plate solve and was wondering if the brains trust could assist.
First let me explain my set up.
Software being used.
SN6 pro plus.
Maxim DL pro
Pinpoint LE with the GSC star catalogue downloaded.
Maxpoint
Eqmod.
Heq5 pro
Orion 102 premium refractor
WO field flattener FF4 .8x
5D MkII
Guiding with Orion ST 80mm and Meade DSI II.
All software is updated to the latest version.
So first let me check my that my settings are correct.
Maxpoint
Maxpoint requires that you put in the gps co ords. How ever there is no provision to indicate North, South, East or West so I’m assuming that I put a minus symbol before the co ords? It doesn’t seem to have any issue with this but I thought I would clarify.
I have my focal lenth with the scope and flattener as 571.2 and the camera pixels for the 5d mkii set to 6.4 microns in pinpoint and Maxpoint.
The issue that I seem to be getting is that despite me setting the correct path in both Maxpoint and Pinpoint LE to the star catalogue, if fails to find the catalogue and there for cannot to an auto calibrate in maxpoint or plate solve in pinpoint.
Has anyone expererienced this sort of thing.
One more thing, if I may.
Using Maxpoint as a hub should I not be be able to use SN6 and eqmod to control my telescope and have maxim dl connect to the scope through max point as well for plate solving? Or am I just not getting something here.
