Access Violation Issues on PC

Hi guys,

I seem to be getting Access Violation errors on my PC. I am trying process some Jupiter R, G, and B files in various versions on Registax and the message appears to be similar:

"Access violation at address 044C3F15 in module "Registax3d.exe" Read address 00000008"

Interestingly enough the error does not occur for the R directory files, only G and B.

Does this have something to do with cleaning up Registary or virus like issues on my computer?

If it is, then is there a good freeware program that can do this?

Have tried with Free Registry Cleaner and the free version of Glary Utilitites but it has not helped other than the 0000000 numbers changing.

Which version of Windows are you running and are you running the program as an Administrator?

Registax will get Access Violations with large files, or if you are running out of diskspace or RAM. I'm guessing this may be your issue as Red comes in okay, then you run out of puff as you get the Green or Blue ones in.
Try trimming the files down in Virtualdub or handyavi or similar, or go to the task manager and see what processes are eating up RAM, and check your virtual memory settings and disk space.
You could reboot, temporarily turn off any un-necessary programs (virus scanner, system tray stuff etc.) and try again, you may just squeak in.

Appear to have enough memory, in RAM. The red file in fact is bigger than the Green file (570 meg vs 530meg).

Have reduced the memory on the hard disc as well so lots of space on it.

Could it be virus related?

Unlikely. It's probably a Registax bug.

Will reinstall all the service pack updates for windows xp and try again. Weird that it works for the red channel but not the others!

Well issue was other files were TIF files, so converted them all to BMPs and it all works again.

I guess it was good as I have now cleaned up the Hard Drive and installed latest service packs, etc etc.
