hi everybody!!!!....I have a question regarding filters. I'm going to get a narrowband filter, (1.25 inch), for observing emission & Planetery nebulae. What I need to know is which filter works the best. I used to own a Lumicon O-III before and it served well for hunting down planetaries as well as certain emission nebulas. I've been reading that Lumicon was taken over by Parks and that their new filters arent as good as they used to be. I know for a fact that people are raving about how great the Astronomik filters are but can't seem to get any here in canada. Should I go with a Lumicon UHC ? , or maybe an Orion Ultrablock ?....any help in answering my question would be just awesome....regards:

If your in Canada the orion ultrablock is a good option.

Try O'Neil optics. Joe is a pleasure to deal with .

Mark,
whatever style/brand you select, consider buying it used on Astromart. That way when you sell it you will not do much dough.
Used 1.25" seem to be about US$65 - $70.
