Anyone know where I can get a bolt to secure an EQ6 to the top plate on a pier? I am hoping to get one by mail order.

I found a more than suitable bolt with a large plastic 'handle' on from an old Xerox Copier. It was one of the adjustable feet on the side sorter. Thread was perfect. If you check my thread 'Workshop Time' in the DIY forum you might spot it on top of the wooden plate I've made up.
Not very big, could just about post you one if you have no luck over there.

I just use an M12 bolt and washer from bunnings when I have the eq6 on the pier. I guess length depends on your top plate thickness.

I used the head of my tripod to go onto the pier to hold the EQ6. I made a bolt that was similar to the tripod bolt, just shortened and machined the shank. Then I welded a rod on the top for a handle.:)

M12 I guess according to Robin. I'll check tonight when I get home if you like.
Bunnings have M12 bolts and threaded rod. I just bought a meter of it plus 16 x M12 nuts and washers for my pier plate adjusters.

Thanks everyone. It appears to be a common sized bolt so I'll have a go at finding one locally.
