Hi guys.

I've asked this question as an aside in other threads but think I'll have more chance of getting this problem resolved if it's posted as its own thread.

When I'm using the K3CCDTools webcam control utility (WcCtrl V1.3.34) for controlling my capture parameters (fps, shutter speed etc) I can only get the shutter speed down to 1/25th if I've got the frame rate set at 10fps.

In fact, 1/25th appers to be as slow as I can go using this webcam control utillity. The AMCap capture software which came with the NexImage cam allows for longer exposure times but isn't as handy.

Is there any way to get the shutter speed lower, to say 1/10th or 1/15th sec?????

Your help much appreciated

1/25th is slow as you can go with the Toucam and the neximage is the same chip...so I think thats all you can go to Matt.

If you are using the ToUcam Matt the lowest exposure rate you can get is 1/25 sec. You should be able to get it down to 5fps thought. I did read somewhere (if I find it I'll post the link) that the ToUcam really operates at 1/5sec if you set it for 1/25 @ 5fps

If you want to go slower you need a modified ToUcam

Thanks.

Is strange then that Rob T says he's working his at 10fps with 1/10th of a sec exposure?

Oh well.

And Paul. Congratulations on the success of your Googling. Likewise, congratulations to me for continuing the great tradition of asking questions at a forum where Q&A based interchange remains the great cornerstone of this forum's success and arguably its greatest strength.

Imagine how quiet it would be if we all just Googled.:)

Does he have a modded camera? Or maybe he's working off the table that Peter produced?

Rob!!!!!

I think he's un MODDED!

You'd be surprised to find out what a Google search reveals about the psychology of folk who suddenly use UPPER CASE and LARGE LETTERING in their letters, e-mails etc

Not good Paul. Not good.

Thanks for your help guys.

How confusing is that though? A case of the camera settings saying one thing and that table of peter's saying it's actually capturing at some other combination??????
