View Full Version here: : Neopad 7"
Anyone have any thoughts on these?
Heading overseas later in year, and have a little Asus netbook, but is a bit weighty compared to these.
This has a USB port so hopefully I can download images and have a play with them.

I think the feedback below the add speaks for itself.
If you have low expectations of the device &
Don't expect your gadgets to just work &
Like to tinker with your gadgets
then it could be a bit fun.
If you answered no to any of the above then its probably not for you.
There is a swag of new tablets coming onto the market so the old models are being dumped.

I would probably use them for reading. I intend to get one anyway for that purpose but sticking quick well with a Netbook for imaging but not processing. I have an i7 for the processing part.

Doh, didnt even read that Michael, so probably wont go there.
Wonder what the best one around is at the moment???

That looks very much like one of these (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=77034)Optus ones for $100 Liz. Might be hard to find stock of them anywhere now though.

There's a lengthy discussion on them over on Whirpool (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1718507) if you can find one.
Yes, had seen your thread Robin, but hadnt thought they would be the same, hmm, OK.
That is big discussion!! A bit of work to be done on it after purchase, and am not the most most savvy person on this stuff. Will keep on browsing that thread.
Thanks guys.

LOL, I didn't point you to that thread with the intention that you would have to do all they are discussing. It was more a case of here is a bunch of techo's using them so they can't be all bad.
You would only need to modify it if you really didn't like it as it comes or if you wanted to put in on another carrier. As the first one you looked at was WIFI only I didn't think that would matter to you. If the option is there maybe it does?
P.S. I have not tried one myself so have no first hand experience of this device.
Not with Optus. Yes, wifi is all I want at this stage, so hopefully OK.
Has it got a USB though?

AS well as wifi, I want to be able to dowload my pics from my camera. ??

I don't think you could use it to empty your camera. To get that you would need one of the higher end models and as Carl says an IPAD may be your best option.
How big is your camera and how many times could you empty it before a tablet was also full?
Hmmm ... see what you mean, I wonder how it would go with a bigger SD card? I have just got a 16 gb card for my HTC phone.
EDIT - popped into Dick Smith yday for a look, and didnt like the look of it, prob would be more hassle than its worth, so will stick with my little netbook for overseas.
