Batch E-Mailing Photo's, Help Please

Hi Guys, just wondering can one batch send photos over the net. :shrug:

If I send any pics in an e-mail I, as you probably do have to import one at a time, so if i want to send say 20 pics I have to do this 20 times. :sadeyes:

Can one just highlight the lot and batch import, so to speak, it would save heaps of time.:shrug:

Just wondering, I'm not that clever when it comes to emailing stuff. :question:

Hi Leon,
Have you thought of putting your selected pics into a folder, zipping & attaching them?
It could also depend on exactly how large the file ends up, as to whether your provider will allow it.

Depends on which email program you use, however, I use Outlook at work and all I do is highlight the files I want to attach in explorer, copy using CTRL C and then in the BODY of the email I am creating, Paste using CTRL V and then ALL the files I have selected appear in the email as attachments all at once.

Of course, the bigger the files, the longer it takes and the longer it takes to send the email overall. Zipping them is easier, winzip or WinRAR will do this for you, both if which have trial versions or are free.

Give this a go, some email programs wont let you select more than one file at a time....

Assuming you are sending JPEGs zipping them does not reduce the size much. It does mean you only have to attach one file. PeaZip will do the job for you.

Chris discussed Outhouse^WOutlook. Thunderbird has an "Attach" toolbar entry. You can use it to select one file or Ctrl-click several.

Many service providers restrict the maximum size of emails. I can't attach more than about 6MB without the mail getting bounced somewhere.

Well thank you, so it seems that I am not the only one this practice frustrates.
My files are quite small Jpeg's no more that 150-200 kb's
Looks like i will be doing it the way I have always been doing it.

If you upload them to skydrive or some similar service you can then share them with the person you want to send them to and after they have them you can then delete them. Just a thought:question:

Another option is to create a "flickr" account: http://www.flickr.com/

You can upload about 300mb a month for free and it makes sharing images a breeze as you only have to send people the website links of the images.

if you have a gmail account (free), it generally means that even with several recipients, the files only get uploaded once. It also comes with the web-based version of Picasa - similar to flickr, so you can share photos by just emailing a link.
