Hi all, looking for a new EP. I am considering something between my 19 Pan and 11T6 nag for use with a 12" F5 dob. The 19 gives 79x and .81 degrees, the 11T6 is 136x and .57 degrees. These are by far my 2 most used in this scope and i find myself occasionally wanting something inbetween. Is it worth the extra money to get something around 14-16mm? The other option is save for a Pan 35 to go for a wider TFOV.

Hi Andrew,

I recommend you read this thread in it's entirety. It related to a very similar question raised a couple of months ago.

and this thread.

I recommended the 14mm Denkmeier and I think Suzy and Mark (Cometguy) unded up purchasing the 14mm Denk and like it.

Cheers,

I own and like the Denk 14mm. I also own a 13mm T6 Nagler which is good as well. If you like the 11mm T6, I suspect you'll like the Nagler. The Denk does pip the Nagler in some criteria (depending on you taste) but they are both fine eyepieces. Read the threads that John linked to for some good comments.

I recently got a very good price on a 13mm Ethos but have not had a chance to use it yet.

13mm Nagler, Pentax 14mmXW or possibly the 16mm Nagler (same FoV as the 19Pan but a 1/3 increase in mag - approximately).
If you don't mind a narrower field the 12mm Brandons or Takahashis make excellent Planetaries in a 12" dob.
