Hi,

This appears in today's media. You might wish to take action if affected

http://www.smh.com.au/technology/security/samsung-laptops-shipping-with-secret-spyware-report-20110331-1che2.html

Edit 1: I mean that you might want to scan your laptop. This could be just a scary story, as it notes that Samsung have made no formal comment as yet :D

Edit 2: The story is refuted. As it wasn't even quite on April 1st.

Information is the power! They are information gathering.

The same type of thing goes on with supermarket "rewards" cards...gathering information.

All big companies engage in information gathering but some are more surreptitious than others.

Quote from the updated story:

Plausible denial?
Out for some publicity?

That's true what you say...... I won't have a rewards card simply because of their " prying " eyes .... What I buy ... is my business.
Their only business should be " excellent customer service " before I hand over the " CASH " . :)

Good to hear it was just a false positive from the security software.

I like samsung products, but had this allegation been true I would have definately blacklist them.

The definitive answer and apology (http://sunbeltblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/samsung-laptops-do-not-have-keylogger.html) from the AV vendor.
