When I get a TIFF out of DSS it is a 32 bit image.

When I try to open it in Photoshop it gives me a message about the document not having an embedded RGB profile and "What would you like to do". I have no idea :help:

Also - the menu item for curves adjustments is grayed out - I can do levels but not curves - what is the reason for this? I can get the curves option if I convert the image to 16 bit - but I seem to loose a whole lot of detail/data...:help:

Any help greatly appreciated!

Adam PS doesn't really work well with the DSS Tiff format. When you open it open it into the workspace profile (which should be adobe1998) then go to Image>Mode>16bit and convert from 32 bit

thanks Paul. If I change it to 16 bit - I lose almost all ability to stretch the histogram. The image I am working with only has 4 lights and 4 darks - But it goes from bad to horrible...

I forgot to say that last night I somehow coaxed PS into giving me curves on the 32 bit image - but I can't remember how I did it now....

are you using the Autosave image?

yes. I have tried also re-saving the image as a 16 bit from within DSS - instead of converting it in PS - no luck.
