I have an EPSON RX430 mfp which we only use for scanning now. After moving to Windows 7 I am having problems getting the supplied software to work.

The drivers have installed ok and the Windows scan software recognises the scanner and works, but it is very basic and does not give all the control that the Epson software did.

How do I get the Epson software to work under Windows 7 or what scanning software do you use?

P.S. I did get it work once but can't remember what I did :P

I mostly just photograph my documents now.

I use just about any graphics program with a HP scanner or Logitech scanner. I haven't tried the epson but I am sure it has the same facilities.

When you install the scanner it will normally have a twain driver which should be installed automatically.

If it has been installed correctly run windows paint. Open files and click on from scanner or camera. A window will open from which you can click to scan or adjust colour/BW, DPI etc.

The image will show in paint.

I normally use photo shop which gives more processing options but I just tested paint which works perfectly although you may need another program for processing.

Thanks Barry. That did work but didn't give me all the options I needed.

Did some googling and found that if I delete the device then download the Vista-64bit Scan software and install that first its all good.

Great Michael. I must have a look at that Vista 54 bit scan software.

There are lots of ways to get your scans done and lots of software. I only made the suggestion as a point of interest in using the twain interface. I had in fact not tried it before today.

I have the HP scan software on the computer also, but I don't like it particularly. I prefer to use PhotoShop and this relys on the "twain" interface which works great with all the graphics programs I have tried.
