If I am going to use Photoshop in a non-commercial, not for profit manner, am I still obliged to shell out $1500 on a full licence, or it it acceptable to get one of their student editions??
I would love to get it, but can't justify fifteen hundred...

I have an A.R.R.R. licence for Photoshop 6
But I have a normal licence for an Earlier version.
Doesn't a Special Edition come bundled with a printer or something?
You can get the licence for the student version, but you have to prove you are a student, and presently at some learning institute.

-a way to get around this is to do a short course wth a camera shop who has an education section & sells the software - - this will qualify you for education pricing...Micahels in Melb does this - i bought a camera -got a free course & this quaifies me for edu pricing...though i am a teacher anyway & could get the education price

Funny that, no one asked what an A.R.R.R. licence was.:)
We're all too scared to Jen !

I hope that you're not advocating a dodgy software source Jen....
Indeed, and as most people know, we don't allow those sorts of posts on IIS so some posts have already been deleted in this thread.

My apologies, I won't repeat my error.
I'll pop out and buy a proper copy at my earliest convenience.

The download version is just $699 US but unfortunately you can't buy through the US store - The Aussie store charges $1162 for the exact same download version. With an exchange rate of 0.98, I wonder who's getting ripped off here? (Remember, no GST payable on internet sales under $1000)
