I have recently become the proud owner of a meade 10 inch LX50 scope that is in remarkable condition.
I need some advice about what software this scope was meant to be used with or compatible with. Go To it is not, and I know it!
Please give me some advice as to what will work.;)

I am not sure about the LX50 I don't think it has any direct computer control but if it has the Magellan II controller attached with its encoders it will have an RS232 access port. You will be able to address it with Meade protocol to extract the RA and Dec coords of the position once the telescope is aligned. The Magellan II manual is on the Meade site. check it out
If you have a computer program that will address the LX200 you may be able to get a readout of position (baud rate set to 2200)
If you don't have the Mgellan II a much better option is the Argo Navis which can be quite easily fitted and it will indicate position on most planetarium programs using Meade protocol.
