Taken at Snake Valley Astro Camp on the last night which was by far the best night of the weekend. As usual I had burnt the candle at both ends for the whole weekend and by Monday night I was rather tired. Knowing I had a 5.5 hr drive home on Tuesday Morning I settled for a quick Ha rendition of this frequently shot target.

The image is a compilation of 10 X 10 minute exposures using an Atik 11002M camera, Baader 7nm Ha filter and a GSO 10" RC.

Finishing this run at about 1:00am I adjurned to bed to get some sleep before the long drive home.

Very nice Doug, surprised your still awake to post......

I don't think there's any candle left to burn.

I'll beat Jen, Is it March yet??

Nice contrasty and expansive image Doug. I like the detail around the head. Funnily you will find that even a luminence run produces this sort of detail too. Well done.

I keep coming back to check this shot. It's a real corker! That's gotta be the best/sharpest Ha shot of the area I've ever seen. Well done again. :prey2:

Thanks Darren, Only just awake. Using Jens miracle cure all to keep the eyes open.

Thanks Grey, It could use a couple more hours of Ha data then some nice RGB to lift it to another level.

Thanks Paul very happy with how well things are working at the moment.

Thanks Doug, I am very happy with the combo I just wish I could get the flattener from USA/Germany.

Thanks Paul. I intend to blend this with some LRGB data when I can capture some.

Thanks David.

Thanks Marc.

Thanks Mike , the snooze gods won on this occassion. I think I managed about 10 hrs sleep for 5 days. Buggered is an understatement. Alot of the awake time was waiting and hoping for the skies to clear.

Thanks H, You were missed buddy. No spiders on the field this time.

Thanks Greg

Thanks Patrick. Monday night was a corcker but as usual I have a 5.5hr drive home so some sleep was required.

Thanks Marc, I didn't think it was that good. I do want to add a bit more data to this one to smooth out a couple of areas.

Thanks Baz

Thanks Martin. Some of this was taken whist I was asleep.

Thanks Ken.

Bugger you spotted it. Yes there is three areas of concern which will be fixed when I get time. I found them after the initial Posting.

Thanks Alan.

I'm late in commenting on this one Doug but that is a very impressive image with an almost 3D look to it. A classic example where you don't need colour.

Cheers

Thanks Jen.

Thanks Mark, Yes I am really starting to enjoy the Ha line images.

Thanks Daniel

Thanks Steve. Sometimes I think the straight mono Ha gives some fine results lost with RGB and even some of the RGB blends.

Thanks David.

Thanks RB. For once I managed to stop before sharpening it to razor blade level.

Thanks Louie. The camera is a definite winner, just not sure how it will go in the hot summer nights although it does have water cooling which I am yet to try.

I've come back for a third, fourth, fifth helping.

Doug, this is amazing.

I think you'd be best to print this one, frame it, and hang on the wall!

Thanks again H, I am hopeful thatI can add some more Ha and maybe even some OIII and SII and maybe even some RGB and see how it turns out. All up I am quite happy with this as an end result if the weather gods keep against me.
It's only clear when I am on night shift. (7pm to 7 am.)

Now this is special Doug. Very impressed with the resolution and details you've obtained. Perhaps more the point is the processing and the ability to extract what you wish to convey. Well done.

Thanks Guy's Comments like these make me feel like I am finally getting somewhere near where I want to be with my imaging. Now all I have to do is achieve the same sort of levels with some RGB images if ever the weather allows me the chance.
