Does Starry Night Pro v6 really need 11GB?

This seems incredible. None of my other software is more than 0.5GB

Just checked, yes it does, the database is pretty big. Given 1TB (1000GB) is about $100 these days, 11G is not a lot really.

The reason why it takes so much room is because of the magnificent all sky survey images which have an immense amount of detail. It is an absolutely brilliant program.

On my 5 year old laptop, I installed the compressed (5 GB) version, and, it still works fine.

I have the full install.
It is a truely remarkable program.
It also takes a long time to do the install then you got to download the upgrades.

ive had starry night pro full install for a few years on vista worked well.just bought a mac loaded in a short time full version and wow super fast on mac no shutting down and telescope control works very well!!
