It puts it on the clipboard - just use "paste" to paste it into a document.

No Paste comes up when I try to do that?
Open up paint and then paste will be there.

I use PrtSc on a regular basis. I don't hold down Alt when I hit PrtSc. I then paste it into Paint, do any editing, then save it to a file.

Hi Ron,
If you have any problems download a small program called Lightscreen
from: http://lightscreen.sourceforge.net/
This allows you to grab full screens, part screens, selected areas of a screen etc.
It works and it's free!

Once you have used captured a screen control-V will paste it into an open document.

Alt + PrtSc will print the Active window, not the whole screen.
Several free Screen Grab apps out there. I use Gadwin Printscreen. SHIFT + PRTSCRN lets me select the area to be captured.

Hi Ron,
Ever heard of "Capiche"?
Free & very useable.
I much prefer to use Snagit by Techsmith, but you have to pay ~$40.00 for it.
& if you use Firefox, there's always an extension or 3.
