Anyone willing to loan me a screen calibrator?

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone in Canberra would be willing to lend me one of those USB gadgets that calibrates your screen? I think my screen is OK, but I really would like to know if it is out and if it is worth buying one.

I would like to try before I buy.

Rest assured, if I break it I will buy you a new one.

Baz, I haven't tried to install my Spyder 3 Express on another computer, and I'm not sure you even can. You have to put in a serial code at installation time, so it may be that correctly licensed versions can't be passed around like that. I knew that when I bought it, and was only going to use it to calibrate my MacBook Pro.

If you're thinking about having multiple monitors calibrated and/or going pro with your photography, you might look into Spyder 3 Pro or Elite versions.

The Spyder3 Pro seems to be getting some good reviews, as do the Elite.
I bought myself a Spyder3 Pro a few days ago and must say there is a huge difference in how images look. It's definitely worth the money if you do editing or have multiple monitors.

As for the licensing, the license is for many computers in one physical location, as well as up to 5 laptops. See http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1014&message=28248186 for some more details about this.

Troy - just so youn know - you can renter your license number on other computers. I have done it on both computers at home and the observatory computer.

The bed news is that by the time i'd post it down to you Barry and you posted it back - you'd nearly buy one at $169 - maybe you need someone closer to you. I also have several guys waiting ot try it next moon at Leyburn.

The spyder3 express works fine in my experience at $169 but purists like professional landscape / porttrait photographers dont seem to like it from my research. Color Munki is prefered but at over $600 - well - it would want to be good.
