I downloaded version 3.0 of VMA onto my lapy a few nights ago (still have version 2.1 on my desktop).

An annoying little bug I've found in version 3.0 is a strip right across the middle of the lunar map image at 1:1 (or near to that zoom factor) is "misbehaving". Sometimes its black, sometimes its a section of the wrong part of the moon. I have reinstalled it without success, and installed the hires clementine photographic textures, but it's still the same...

Anyone know of a fix (yet)?

Al.

What operating system are u using? I get a similar thing on Windows 2000 here at work i.e. NT based, but in BOTH versions of VMA (2.1 & 3.0). In my case, it's not an entire strip - but 2 wedges or 'notches' near the equator that are blacked out. It may have more to do with your video driver files than with the software.

I didn't have this problem in version 2.1 on my home PC under WinXP. I'll try the new 3.0 on XP & see if it happens there.

Try upgrading your video driver, or tweaking the driver/GL settings etc.

It's not necessarily a bug in the software (yet!)

Cheers, Fred....

G'Day Fred,

I'm using XP Pro on the desktop and XP Home on the lappy...

Hi Al

I have been using Version 3.0 since early Oct 2005 and do not experience the bug you report. Here are my specs:

P4 3.4Ghz
1G RAM
200G SATA drive
Win XP Pro SP2
Radeon 9800 Graphics Card
Open GL turned on

Any other symptoms?

Cheers

Dennis

I've also been using V 3.0 expert since Oct and don't have that problem.
