Hi all,

I'm happy to announce the new version of my free and open logging software: Observation Manager

The new version brings again some great new features like:
- Observation projects
- Support for russian and ukrainian language
- New export and import features
- Latest NGC/IC catalog by Wolfgang Steinicke
- some minor features and bugfixes

Again everything is free to download at:
http://observation.sourceforge.net/en
and latest information at the Observation Manager Blog at:
http://observationmanager.wordpress.com (http://observationmanager.wordpress.com/)

Hope you'll like it!

Best regards

Hi Dirk,

I'm so glad that the release has occurred. I think it would be great to see this added into the software part of the site at Ice In Space as I think that many amateur astronomers don't realise about this wonderful free astronomy logging software. I will look around the site and see where it might be appropriate to talk to Mike Salway about getting this included in the software or links section. Then I'll add some more detail about the uses that I've put Observation Manager to over the past years. When I add more comments, I'll post back here so people can track the info that I put up on site.

Thanks again.

Kind Regards,

Jeff. (from Sydney Australia) :)

Not much help if there are no instructions as to how to operate/load or run the program

@Jeff: Thanks for your support!

@Allan: There is in deed no complex help available. But there's a README.txt file in the ZIP that explains installation (basically it's just an unzip) and starting of the programm (call obs.bat (Windows), obs.sh (Unix/Linux) or obs.command (Mac))
I think the programm itself is more or less self explaining. I've a blog at:
http://observationmanager.wordpress.com/
that discusses certain hints and tricks.
Hope this helps...

Best

Dirk

I saw the readme file and the bat file but under W7 the bat file said some other file was missing and the readme file was not recognised.
