I have added to my web site details of all the various polar alignment software that I am aware of, some I have used and some I have not. If anyone is interested in seeing it, it can be found here
http://www.rkastro.net/polaralignmentsoftware.html

I intend to add further information about each one and would welcome comments on people's experiences with the various software.
Thanks,

Richard

Hi Richard

Thanks for the details; I had a quick look although I use the wonderful Tak EM200 Polar Alignment ‘Scope so I haven’t needed to look for a software solution, yet.

I noticed that at least one of the applications listed, Polar Finder (Freeware), made reference to Polaris whereas in the Southern Hemisphere we have no such bright star and use Sigma Octans.

You have a very nice rig!

Cheers

Dennis

Might like to add T-Point running under TheSky.

Assumes you already have a rough polar alignment - the way it works (or rather the feedback it gives) is mount dependent.

Hi Rally, thanks for your message. You are right, I should include TPoint. I have TPoint and have tried using it to polar align, but do not get very consistant results with it.

Clear skies,
Richard
