Well I am sold on Avistack. Downloaded it tonight and used it on my recent solar data which was pretty ordinary overall.

As you can see the amount of detail gained is really quite enormous and I shudder to think of the data I have thrown away lately without trying to process it with this program.

So what are your thoughts?

I am going to use this more often.

I tried it on some old Jupiter Data. The results were similar to what I get with K3CDD and Registax. It's a lot easier to use than Registax. Would like to see a 2x drizzle mode though.

I had my first play with Avistack the other night. I must say it was pretty ordinary data to feed into it, but I seemed to get much beter results from avistack than registax.

I do feel very comfortable using registax however. I thinkI know it pretty well. I almost gave avistack away after my first attempt, but fortunately on my second try I got good results.

I think I've missed something though... I can't see how to limit the number of frames stacked based on quality. The manual says the number in brackets is the quality limit, but no matter what I try so far it stacks the lot!

This looks very promising. Only been trying to image for a couple of months so still on a steep learning curve.

Re-worked some AVI's through AviStack and came up with a much better result than I was getting with Registack. Where I previously came up with rubbish I can now see detail.

The workflow through Avistack seems more natural and easier to follow.

I am unconvinced this will be any good for planetary work. Lunar and Solar yes, but planetary no. I will continue to use Registax for planetary but I will use Avistack on my lunar and solar work.
