Had a go at Saturn early this morning.

:)Thanks for the comments, not to sure if it's a beautiful site in my pic Dave, beautiful Saturns are Ice and Birds:prey2:

It was a beautiful thing in the ep that's for sure, clear as a bell at all mags, it was the biggest thrill i have had looking through a scope, and also making out some color and shading on Mars;)

Pic was prime focus through the ed80 ep projection with tv 20mm and 2xshorty barlow,Shooting Date/Time

I am sure!!!!

I see who has posted the post, i click on the link and then let my mouth shoot off. If bird had posted this one, i would giggle, but Bird didn't, you did. And just because the image scale is not birds, it did not stop me from getting excited for you!

I can honestly say that I really got a kick out of your picture. It is a mixture of knowing a bit about you, your equipment, your polar alignment problems from the forums etc etc.

If i wanted the "best" i would only look at the hubble images. I prefer not too, as they don't carry any "personality" and therefore are not the "best".

Why do we all still get excited every single time from looking at saturn through a 12mm eyepiece when it is nowhere near as big as bird's images?? Imaging is great, but the bigger picture of astronomy ie the fellowship, learning, educating, sharing etc etc means that your photo is just as good as bird's!!!

Birds images are twice as good now for me having met him and for all the help and encouragement he has given me. Asimov and Ken pictures on the budget equipment were also great.

I will never comment on a pic just for the sake of it.

However for DSO's

I expect you to be giving chris venter a good smacking around the head with some rippa widefields by the end of January!!!!

;)Thanks Dave, i will admit loving the first ever image i got of Saturn, even if it could be better.

Still no tracking, should have set up properly this morning and tried for polar alignment, but with Saturn, Mars, the Moon, M42, The Pleiades all up for a good view, i decided to enjoy a nights viewing and just pushed the scope around on the EQ6;)

I can only hope for some good DSO's by the end of the year, i will be trying for a good polar alignment once the moon fades out a bit, i have some targets that need my attention:P

Goodonya Trev,

Like Davo said, we all enjoy the images mate, no mater what level it's at.
It's the fellowship.
Ever since I joined Ice In Space I've enjoyed astonomy SO MUCH MORE because now I can share and also see other people's work. Plus you learn from others. I would have been doing cart-wheels if my first Saturn turned out like your dude. :)

And well said Davo, you expressed what I felt.

Cheers guys.
