hi all

as the title suggests iam looking for something that will turn my monitors off selectively ie: monitor one only or 2 only ect ect

i know i can set them time in control panel but that turns both off at the set time

reason for this is as soon as i turn monitor 1 on, the UPS losses grunt and reboots my computer (monitor is a old crt still Works) monitor is not (UPS is New) hooked up to the UPS (go figure) UPS Is 650 va should handle just the puter and digital 22" samsung the ups does not seem to mind it to come out of sleep mode
UPS is hooked up to seperate ac cord

any help is welcome

regards john

That's a bit hard to follow. Is this what you mean?

You have the computer and the LCD plugged into battery packed sockets on the UPS?
The CRT is not plugged into the UPS?
Turning on the CRT causes the UPS to reboot the PC?

Some possibilities spring to mind. There might be more.

1. The UPS is faulty. The brown out from turning on the CRT should not be deep enough or long enough for the UPS to decide it has lost power and tell the PC to shut down. If the UPS has sockets which are filtered but not battery backed up try plugging the CRT in there and see if it makes any difference. That is what I do.

2. The UPS software on the PC has been set to power off immediately on loss of power. It makes more sense to be set to power off when the batteries fall below some threshold, say 2 minutes power left.

havent got any software installed for the ups it wont install i get an error 0x5 access denied error not solved

i think the UPs is not large enough

what iam after is the sleep mode it turns both monitors to sleep :) only want the one the crt. at the moment i have nothing on the UPS seeing if the bat is fully charged.

crt not plugged into the UPS at the Time :) of the brown out
UPS Has two 240 sockets only Cant Make Mistake there :)
