Quick one from last night no darks applied 17 frames 6 minutes per frame total 1hr 42min (work in progress)
question when do you capture the darks is it after the image run
this is without the IR-cut filter

Very nice Trevor, This will take a few frames to make a big mosaic showing the entire nebula. Nice little big project that would be.

Thanks Alan, Doug. Marc and Tom
it probably needs longer exposures,
I assumed that may be the case with the darks Tom as I took some at the beginning, half way and towards the end and I noticed the initial ones were no where near dark must be something to do with sensor warm up
I'm starting to get some AMP glow in the bottom right corner don't know whats causing this may be the warmer weather

Trevor,
Excellent.
Your images are getting better and better. The guiding and stars look fantastic.
Would love to see you add many, many hours on this. You don't necessarily have to do a mosaic; just concentrating on the one region such as you have, really brings out the cluster amongst the beautiful nebulosity.
And, seriously, make sure you take darks after the session, and, also, start flat framing if you haven't already.
These little things will do wonders for your images.
Well done.

Lovely image there Trev, nice rich colours!
TBH, i havent taken dark in a while, the QHY8 has such low current noise that they are not always needed.

Trevor,
Definitely prefer the last reprocess.
You need much more data, however. And, remember, darks and flats!
