LCD monitor adjustment. Useful site

Bought myself a cheapish monitor, which I have suspected to be fairly off colour-wise.

Haven't properly calibrated a monitor before, yet it seems essential these days with image editing etc.

I was not sure of the process and couldn't find many / any easy to follow tutourials.

Found this site helpful, straight forward and easy to navigate.

Thought some others may appreciate it.

Edit~ Ha! Never noticed the blue / white banding on the different forum topics / sections. Was just a blur before. ;) Hate to think what this has been doing to me images! Bah!

The proper way to calibrate an LCD is through using a hardware device such as a Spyder2, Spyder3 or a cheapie like the Pantone Huey or gretagmacbeth display calibrator.

Ignore that, in this respect, the term monitor calibration is misleading.

This is just changing your display settings so that contrast, brightness and other anomalies such as clock and phase settings are correct.

Yes, the OP does go into that on the site also.
Is there a better term for this thread? Perhaps "monitor adjustment"?
